The UF Water Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. Tara Wade as a new member of the Faculty Advisory Committee. Dr. Wade is an agricultural resource economist in the Food and Resource Economics Department and the Southwest Florida Research and Education Center. She specializes in determining the economic factors that affect choices to adopt environmentally benign agricultural practices. Dr. Wade’s integrated extension and research program includes evaluating the costs of ecosystem services, conservation policy design, and assessing factors that affect farmers’ decisions to adopt agriculturally benign practices that often affect water quality. “I believe that water connects all of us and we can begin to resolve water quality and quantity issues through interdisciplinary approaches. The Water Institute provides invaluable opportunities to collaborate with others and serving on the FAC allows me to play a small role in this process. As a junior faculty member I can also take advantage of opportunities to learn from various disciplines and network with faculty that would be difficult to meet otherwise.” -Dr. Tara Wade For more information about the Faculty Advisory Committee and its current and past members, please click here.
