The Water Institute Faculty Fellows award program recognizes the recent contributions of active Water Institute affiliate faculty and their outstanding interdisciplinary research, extension, and/or education in water programs. Faculty Fellows are selected based on the strength of their programs, alignment with the Water Institute mission, and ongoing commitment to contributing to Water Institute initiatives.

Recipients of the award serve as ambassadors for the Water Institute, both within and outside the University of Florida, for three years. Faculty Fellows are recognized at the annual Water Institute Awards Ceremony, are featured in a Water Institute Distinguished Scholar Seminar, and receive a stipend to assist with interdisciplinary proposals.

The Call for Nominations for Water Institute Faculty Fellows is issued in the Spring semester, with awards starting at the beginning of the following Fall semester.
