The Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (SE CASC) is one of nine regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers within the U.S. Geological Survey’s national network. Led by North Carolina State University, SE CASC brings together academic and nonprofit partners across the Southeast to generate and deliver actionable science that helps fish, wildlife, water, land, and people adapt to the impacts of climate change. Through collaboration with resource managers and decision-makers, SE CASC supports research, ecological forecasting, modeling, and other science activities that address critical climate-related challenges facing the region.

The UF Water Institute serves as a focal point for connecting the University of Florida’s water and climate expertise with the SE CASC consortium. The Institute helps facilitate engagement between UF faculty, students, and SE CASC partners, ensuring that consortium opportunities, research collaborations, funding programs, and training resources are accessible to the UF community while promoting the integration of UF expertise into regional climate adaptation efforts. These activities have supported the development of new interdisciplinary initiatives, including the Bridging the Gap: Integrating Water Management and Ecosystem Science for Resilience in Florida project.
