Water Institute Partners with UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute to Co-Host “Science on Tap: Cheers from the Arctic”

The Water Institute recently co-hosted “Science on Tap: Cheers from the Arctic,” an event that offered insights into conducting water research in Greenland. Held in collaboration with UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute (TESI) and the Florida Museum of Natural History, the occasion unfolded within the framework of the 9th Water Institute Symposium. It provided a unique platform for Water Institute Graduate Fellows and Faculty to showcase their scientific work and hone their communication skills.

During the event, Dr. Jon Martin, Megan Black, Jaehyeon Lee, and Yuseung Shin shared their first-hand experiences and the challenges encountered in conducting water research in Greenland. Approximately 100 attendees gained insights into the complexities of scientific exploration in Greenland and the enduring significance of their ongoing water research efforts.

“Science on Tap” stands as a cornerstone event of the UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute, striving to augment scientists’ communication prowess while deepening public understanding of the importance of their research. The occasion celebrated scientific inquiry while fostering a meaningful connection between researchers and the broader community.
