Water Institute Assistant Director joins Linton-Poodry SACNAS Leadership Institute (LPSLI)

This summer Water Institute Assistant Director, Dr. Paloma Carton de Grammont, was selected to join and attended the 2023 Linton-Poodry SACNAS Leadership Institute (LPSLI) cohort. LPSLI is the country’s premier training for underrepresented minority (URM) scientists, which provides training and networking to lead institutional transformation. This training has provided Dr. Carton de Grammont with tools to support the Water Institute’s mission and realize one of UF’s critical core values: Inclusive Excellence.  

The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/ Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) programs and events train and support the next generation of diverse STEM talent. Dr. Carton de Grammont will continue to develop partnerships with this and other similar professional organizations to improve recruitment and help foster inclusive excellence and workforce development for all UF graduate students, post-docs staff and faculty associated with the Water Institute.
