The UF Water Institute (WI) initiated the Faculty Fellow program in 2013 to recognize University of Florida faculty who are making outstanding research, extension, or education contributions in water programs that advance UF’s interdisciplinary community of water science.
UF Water Institute Faculty Fellows are selected based on the strength of their interdisciplinary research, education, or extension programs (with emphasis on the past three years), alignment with the mission of the Water Institute, and their demonstrated commitment to contributing to WI initiatives. In addition, Fellows are expected to provide leadership by developing and advancing interdisciplinary, cross-campus research, teaching, extension, and/or outreach initiatives during their term.
Faculty Fellow appointments are for three academic years. During this time, Fellows are recognized at an awards ceremony, featured in a UF Water Institute seminar, and serve as ambassadors for the Water Institute within and beyond UF. Fellows play an active role in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration by helping to organize and catalyze water-related initiatives aligned with the Institute’s mission and strategic priorities.
The Call for Nominations for Water Institute Faculty Fellows is issued each Spring semester, with awards beginning at the start of the following Fall semester
