Tatiana Borisova contributes to the 2019 Annual Assessment of Florida’s Water Resources and Conservation Lands report.

During her sabbatical leave, Tatiana Borisova, Associate Professor and Extension Specialist, Food and Resource Economics Department and member of the Water Institute Faculty Advisory Committee, has been working with the Office of Economic and Demographic Research (EDR), a research branch of the Florida Legislature, co-authoring the “Annual Assessment of Florida’s Water Resources and Conservation Lands” (2019 Edition, published in January).

In collaboration with EDR’s staff members Matthew Cutillo and Krystle Hoenstine, Tatiana focused on forecasting statewide expenditures needs to meet the increase in water demand in Florida between 2015 and 2035, contributing primarily to Chapter 3: “Modeling Future Water Demand and Supply”. The team estimated that over the 2015 through 2035 planning horizon, the costs associated with ensuring that future water supplies are available to meet the increasing water demands are between $1.6 and $2.2 billion dollars.
