The Water Institute led Floridan Aquifer Collaborative Engagement for Sustainability (FACETS) project successfully hosted its first series of Water Workshops for Decision-Makers in the Suwanee River Basin. The Water Workshops aim to provide information and tools that community leaders can use to make informed decisions about their communities’ water resources. Sessions were carefully designed to provide an opportunity to discuss water challenges, policies, and local priorities with regional and state agencies, allowing decision makers to network and exchange ideas.

The presentation was excellent, and I learned a great deal, met a lot of very knowledgeable people and received many wonderful contacts that I am sure will help me in my endeavors” (local elected official)

The workshop series was supported by twenty water resource experts from seven agencies/organizations and was attended by eighteen local decision-makers and opinion leaders. Additional FACETS Water Workshops in Florida and Georgia are planned in 2021-22.
