Welcome Ivelisse Ruiz Bernard as the New Member of the Water Institute Team

The Water Institute is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ivelisse Ruiz Bernard as the new Administrative Assistant. Ivelisse brings a passion for community engagement, education, and supporting research. Her interdisciplinary expertise, management skills, and creativity will enhance the Water Institute’s growth and its ongoing commitment to convening a multi-stakeholder community focused on interdisciplinary water research.

Ivelisse earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico and her M.S. in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Florida. Prior to joining the Water Institute, she provided scientific and research support at the University of Florida and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Her work during this period spanned various fields, including aquatic and forest ecology as well as environmental education.

In her role as the Water Institute’s Administrative Assistant, Ivelisse will provide programmatic, administrative, and fiscal support. Her efforts coordinating future programs and events will create opportunities for students, faculty, and partners of the Water Institute.
