Because human and natural systems are interconnected, effective management requires integrated approaches, especially for coastal communities. These approaches need to consider how landscape-level land and water use changes alongside changes in temperature, precipitation, and species distribution from a changing climate influence the ecological quality and economic value of coastal resources. This project evaluated how these factors influenced the quality of natural resources in the Suwannee River Basin, Florida, which heavily supports the local economy.
Funding: National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine Gulf Research Program from 2020 – 2024.
This project is led/coordinated by the Water Institute.
