My interests lie in landscape ecology, numerical, empirical and theoretical ecology, biodiversity patterns and processes, conservation biology, ecohydrology and geomorphology. Personally, as "candidate scientist" I find extremely exiting (and mandatory in some way) to challenge the problems in an interdisciplinary perspective, involving disciplines that apparently could seem at the opposite, like sociology and economy. Species like fishes, trees, birds, and large mammals are currently the objects of my studies. My study of biocomplexity is mainly approached in a probabilistic way using statistical mechanics tools, network theory methods and scaling approaches.
