Research in Dr. Andrew Altieri’s lab (www.altierilab.org) examines the response of coastal ecosystems to global change. His research group is interested in how anthropogenic factors (e.g., species extinction, invasions, habitat degradation, climate change, overfishing) interact with biodiversity, species interactions, and emergent ecosystem functions. Much of his work has focused on the dynamics of ecologically important habitats created by living organisms including corals, mangroves, seagrass, and shellfish.
