My current research focuses on the restoration of plant communities in natural and semi-natural landscapes. Some of the questions involve: Are ecological restoration techniques effective in the long term? What influences the transition from invasive species control to native species establishment? How can we apply adaptive mangement to invasive-species dominated systems? My lab addresses basic ecological questions with experiments in a restoration context. We work in freshwater marshes at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, wet meadows and floodplain forests in the Upper midwest US, and stormwater impacted floodplains in Gainesville.

Keywords: restoration; invasive species; adaptive management; native plants
