I study forest ecology with particular interests in canopy biology, carbon cycling and landscape scale spatial patterns. I use a combination of field data, remote sensing and modeling in my research, which has been focused primarily in the tropics. I am interested in how tropical forests change along gradients of total and seasonality of rainfall, both currently and under future climate conditions. I am also involved in understanding land use change and conservation planning in dry tropical forests.
