Jeffry S. Wade is Director of the Environmental Studies Division at the Center for Governmental Responsibility, University of Florida Levin College of Law, and an affiliate faculty member of the School of Natural Resources and Environment and the Center for Latin American Studies. His research focuses on legal and policy issues associated with growth management, water management, wetlands regulation, coastal resources management, hurricane mitigation and redevelopment, and sustainable development. His international research and training projects include the “Summer Program in American Law for Brazilian Judges and Prosecutors,” offered each year at the Levin College of Law; “Sustainable Development in Brazil: Empowering Non-Governmental Organizations,” to assist environmental and social rights organizations in the states of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul; and the “Everglades/Pantanal Exchange and Technical Training Program,” a multi-disciplinary program of training and exchange which provided seminars, short courses, exchanges and internships for technicians and policymakers from the Pantanal, an internationally important wetland region of Brazil.
