I was a faculty member at UF for 23 years, working primarily on ecology and management of forested wetlands, especially cypress swamps. I also worked on lakes and pine plantations, and I used simulation modelling as a research tool.
I left UF in 1994 and worked for 11 years for the US Forest Service in Hawaii on mangroves and freshwater swamps in the Pacific islands. I have retired from both UF and the Forest Service but continue to write professional papers, primarily based on research I conducted in the Pacific.
