Dr. Boman has been a leader in research programs associated with the design, operation, and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems for citrus production. Recent work centers on environmental concerns related to agricultural production and he presently serves as the University of Florida, IFAS coordinator for developing and implementing best management practices to reduce impacts on Florida?s water resources. Other work includes characterizing runoff water from a variety of land use types and investigating effects of citrus water management and fertilization practices on surface water and groundwater quality, and managing citrus production with high salinity irrigation water. Dr. Boman has written over 150 publications on his work including book chapters, journal articles, refereed papers, extension bulletins, and popular press articles.
