My research program includes the following: nutrient management in agricultural and urban watersheds, best management practices, nutrient management in greenhouse-grown vegetable crops, soil-test calibration for vegetables, fertilization practices for vegetables, plant tissue test development and calibration, and crop fertilization/crop quality interactions. My extension program involves developing educational materials for nutrient management and the demonstration of crop nutrient and water management practices at the watershed level. I carry out advanced in-service training programs for county extension faculty. I am involved with working groups pertaining to nutrient management and BMPs. I work with the Suwannee River Partnership to foster research and extension programs for BMPs in the Suwannee River watershed.I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental sciences and water and nutrient management science and policy.
