Primary area of research is watershed hydrology and biogeochemistry, with an emphasis on wetland processes. Interests include watershed science focusing on landscape-scale processes and remote sensing, wetland ecosystems, biogeochemistry and systems ecology, ecological/hydrological modeling and environmental accounting.Research on watershed level assessment of wetland soils (Florida, Ohio). Developing simulation models of wetland community development and complex feedbacks in the ridge-slough mosaic of the Everglades. Developing techniques (spectroscopy) for rapid assessment of soil-water interactions and soil fertility across Florida. Working on policy development and assessment methods for water and soil management in dryland areas of the Sahel, West Africa. Involved with bioassessment techniques for wetland ecosystems.Participant in the Water Institute Hydrologic Observatory team.
